Job Summary:
As a Desktop Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our global workforce. You'll diagnose and resolve a wide range of desktop and laptop issues, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Responding promptly to user tickets and inquiries through our internal ticketing system.
- Remotely troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, including network connectivity, application functionality, and peripheral malfunctions.
- Providing clear and concise guidance to users through phone, email, and remote desktop tools.
- Escalating complex problems to senior engineers or appropriate teams when necessary.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of resolved issues and undertaken actions.
- Proactively identifying potential issues and implementing preventive measures.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of desktop support processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess a strong understanding of desktop operating systems like Windows and macOS.
- Be proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with users from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of issues.
- Be a team player with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across departments.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor, remaining calm and patient while assisting users.
- Be adaptable and willing to learn new technologies as they emerge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a desktop support role (freshers will also be considered for the role).
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving desktop and laptop issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A customer-centric approach with a commitment to user satisfaction.
Experience:
We welcome applications from both experienced desktop support professionals and enthusiastic freshers eager to launch their IT careers. For experienced candidates, a minimum of 1 year of prior experience is preferred. Freshers with strong academic backgrounds in IT and a passion for technology will also be considered.
