Job Summary

The Auditor will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and reputational strength of HSBC. You'll be responsible for conducting independent audits of various financial processes, controls, and transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, auditing standards, and risk management practices, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute audit plans to assess the effectiveness of internal controls across various departments
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial statements, transactions, and accounting records
  • Identify potential risks, control weaknesses, and areas for improvement in financial processes
  • Perform analytical procedures to assess the accuracy and completeness of financial information
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with clear recommendations for corrective action
  • Communicate audit findings effectively to senior management and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date on accounting standards, auditing best practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism throughout the audit process
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the bank's internal audit function

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA, CMA, or ACMA certification a plus)
  • Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS)
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing principles, methodologies, and best practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and assess risks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex findings effectively
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and audit software (a plus)
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical conduct

Experience

This role is well-suited for individuals with a strong academic background in accounting or finance and a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in internal auditing or a related field. Experience in the banking sector is a plus. A passion for accuracy, a strong analytical mind, and the ability to think critically are essential.
